keep your vax straight
[campaign strategy/development, art direction, & illustration]
The Mississippi Department of Health booked their calendars full with a four stage campaign dedicated to vaccination awareness. This gargantuan campaign needed to be light and playful in tone, work across multiple platforms, and play to an audience that believes in the effectiveness of the vaccines, but does not get them for reasons such as: they take too long to get, don’t know where to get them, think they cost too much, or not sure if they need them. This campaign posits these as silly reasons and bring awareness to the effectiveness and ease of getting vaccinated!
Original concept and campaign board + initial character sketches
While I did not come up with the idea for this concept, I was the lead designer for this project. I wanted it to be simple, bright, and playful with much of the focus being on the character. For this project I dipped my toes into character creation and got to flex my illustration skills. Only phase 1 of this campaign ended up getting published, the rest was put on hold due to state budget cuts. I cannot show the full campaign, but I am able to share the 1st phase and all the illustrations I created.
